The annual death toll in Iraq more than doubled from 2012 and 2013, and in 2014 doubled again. In 2015 Iraq is continuing to undergo the worst period of violence since 2007, which shows no signs of remission. For the first three months of 2013 we recorded an average of 373 deaths per month due to violence. In the single month of January 2015 alone we have a preliminary record of 1431 deaths (pending complete analysis).
We continue to need your help to:
- bring and keep IBC's detailed records as up to date as possible
- broaden and deepen the coverage and analysis we can offer
- keep awareness of Iraqi casualties in the public eye
