Sheik Dhamer al-Dhari, a cleric for the past 20 years in Baghdad's western Khadra neighborhood, was killed Saturday after gunmen knocked on the door of his home just after prayers, neighbors said.

"Everybody knew him, Sunni, Shia, they loved him alike," said Ziad Hamed, a neighbor. ...

Al-Dhari apparently had been part of a Muslim scholars group pushing for Sunni political representation as Iraq prepares for a return of sovereignty.
